Real Estate Practice Group Hosts Real Estate Nonprofit-Private Partnerships Event in DC
The Real Estate Transactions Group marked new territory on April 14 when it hosted the firm’s first seminar in Washington, DC proper.
Lerch Early partners Sharon Craig and Ann Marie Mehlert (fourth and sixth from left) served as a panelist and moderator, respectively. They were joined by, from left, Howard University VP of Real Estate Tony Freeman, The JBG Companies Principal Ed Chaglassian, The Walker Group President Larry Walker, and Alvarez & Marsal Managing Director Jay Brown.
The panelists provided insight into the processes nonprofits use to identify the right development partners, how to document the transactions between the nonprofits and the chosen developers, and the process to get to a successful closing.
The event, which took place at global architecture firm Gensler’s K Street office, drew attendees from throughout the region.
