Lerch Early is pleased to welcome attorney Curtis L. Sano as a principal in its Real Estate practice.
Curtis brings more than 30 years of experience handling real estate development for multifamily, office, hotel, and mixed-use projects.
“Curtis is a real estate pro who can tackle all aspects of sophisticated development projects in the region, where knowledge of nuances in local law across the DMV is critical to project success,” said Ashley C. Haun, principal and co-chair of the Real Estate group at Lerch Early. “We are excited to welcome him to our team and are thankful he selected our firm for this next stage of his career.”
Curtis advises clients on the purchase, sale, finance, and development of real estate throughout the region. He is particularly adept at debt (senior and mezzanine) and equity finance, joint ventures in opportunity zones, and data center and fiber network development.
“I saw an immediate fit in joining Lerch Early — an excellent full-service firm with a collaborative, collegial culture,” Curtis said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to continue to expand the firm’s real estate practice across the region, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s success.”
Curtis is an active member of the Yale Association of Real Estate Alumni’s Conference Organizing Committee and co-founder of the DC-area Asian American Commercial Real Estate group. He holds a Master of Public Planning from the University of California Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy. Curtis is recognized in Best Lawyers in America’s rankings for Real Estate law.
Over the past 2.5 years, Lerch Early has focused on expanding its regional reach, opening an office in Prince George’s County, and a new office and title company in Northern Virginia. During this time, the firm has grown from 60 to 75 attorneys.
Adding Curtis furthers that growth strategy.
“Curtis’ expertise in the Northern Virginia market gives us another avenue to serve our clients across the Washington, D.C. region,” said Ruth O. Katz, managing partner at Lerch Early.
