Overview

Chris Cohen is a land use attorney who helps developers, property owners, and institutional clients secure zoning approvals in Maryland and Washington, DC. He provides advice and representation on all stages of the land use approval process, including due diligence, variance applications, special exceptions, community outreach, and permitting.

Prior to joining Lerch Early, he served in the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, working with both the DC Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Adjustment. He reviewed and finalized Zoning Commission orders concerning planned unit developments, map amendments and text amendments, and prepared the Board of Zoning Adjustment to hear and decide special exception and variance cases.

Chris received his bachelors of business administration from Emory University and his law degree from The George Washington University Law School, where he was a Thurgood Marshall Scholar. He is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. 

Chris is a Montgomery County native who enjoys an active lifestyle, which usually involves basketball. When he’s not on the court playing or coaching, Chris can be found searching for airline tickets to Greece. Chris is also an owner and diehard fan of the Green Bay Packers.
