Legislative Alert: Montgomery County Approves $15 Minimum Wage

The Montgomery County Council unanimously approved a $15 minimum wage to be phased in starting in 2021 by businesses with 51 or more employees. The smallest businesses — those with 10 or fewer employees — will have until 2024 to comply.

County Executive Isiah Leggett signed the legislation into law after vetoing an earlier version that more quickly implemented the new minimum wage.
